Updates & Changes

Hi Team,

Here are some changes/reminders in date order….

This week Middle Schoolers do have the Middle School Virtual Competition for the following events:  Jan 6-10 events are Solar System, Dynamic Planet, & Shock Value

Due to weather conditions and limited parking on side roads, we are postponing our Team Meeting - SO NO TEAM MEETING THIS WEEK!!! (Jan. 9th)

Next week Middle Schoolers also have the Middle School Virtual Competition for the following events:  Jan 13-17 events are Rocks and Minerals, Entomology, & Water Quality

Library hours next week are shortened: Library Hours ~ Tuesday Jan. 14th ~ 11am-4pm.  If you need to access the CSI Library and cannot make those times, call or text my cell phone and we can arrange a different opportunity.  This is held at Coach Parker's Home.

As mentioned above we are postponing our Team Meeting to: Team Meeting ~Thursday Jan. 16th ~ 4pm-6pm, to be held at the Wagenmaker’s home.  This is 2 days before our first competition!

First live competition date has NOT changed and is at Northridge on Jan. 18th - more details to follow.

Snow Effects and more

Hi Team,

We are canceling library hours THIS Tuesday (1/7/14 - you cannot get up my road, let alone my driveway LOL), we will have Library Hours at my home on the 14th (weather permitting).  If you need something before that and our road gets clear, we can work that out.

As far as THIS Thursday’s Team Meeting (1/9/14 4pm), we will have to wait and see what the roads look like by then AND whether the Wagenmakers can host.

Don’t forget MIDDLE SCHOOLERS, we have the virtual competitions available, see the schedule below AND contact Coach Konett with questions.

The T-Shirts have been ordered and should be done before the 18th, we will let ya know when/how we will get them to you.  As always, for warmth you can wear a turtle neck or other kind of shirt underneath, but NOT over the T-Shirt.  If throughout the day you warm up, you can just go in the bathroom and take the bottom layer off.  We want to be able to see the T-shirts, which support our sponsors and gives our team a unified “look”.

Our first "live" competition is less than 2 WEEKS away at Northridge on Saturday 1/18/14!  So GET STUDYING or BUILDING!!!  Use your “snow days” wisely.

Hi Team,

I again cannot attend this next meeting:.
This fall has been crazy and I should have looked at my schedule better.  Please see the revised (added to) CSI Team Schedule on the calendar tab.  I have decided to open my home for Library Hours on several TUESDAYS, which is an OPTIONAL "Open House" sort of time for any student and/or Event Coach to come to my home to do any or all of the following:
Browse through our CSI resources and borrow what they need for their event(s):

• books
• DVDs
• CDs
• supplies
• coach's manuals

Arrange to meet with others (any time or duration during those hours):
Event Partners

• take practice tests
• practice event skills
• go over supply kits

Get extra help from:

• Event Coaches
• Me (Head Coach)
• Have a specific time/place to study with others

Again, this time is optional and is just being set aside in my schedule, not only to help you, but to keep my own students "on track" with a firm day and time to "do CSI"...LOL!  The extended amount of time is so that people with varying schedule needs can hopefully find a time during those 6 hours that work for them.
